Christians4Science is An Apologetic Work of the Villa Rica Church of Christ in Georgia
Science education is now beginning a profound comprehensive reworking. This effort began over three years ago when the Carnegie Foundation and the National Academy of Science began the process. That is a good thing. The bad news is the curriculum includes Darwinian evolution. Evolution will be a unifying theme. This site is a tool you can use to learn about this effort.

As Christians, we support quality education and want our children to have the best learning opportunities. God gave mankind the command to have dominion over creation. "And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness; and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the birds of the heavens, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth." Genesis 1:26. It is often stated that science is thinking God's thoughts after Him. Good science and Christianity go hand in hand and are not in conflict. An effective education in K-12 science is important to every Christian home. The Christian and concerned citizens need to be aware of what is happening.
Darwinian evolution is opposed to the Christian world view. Also, it is bad science. Georgia changed science curriculum in 2006, including introducing evolution. Since those standards were in place, it is mandated to teach evolution content, even against community opposition. Because they are state standards, citizens are told little can be done.
That was the past. Today we are facing a much bigger challenge. This does not only affect Georgia. Over 26 states are involved in this new effort and will be coerced into including evolution in the new science curriculum. As it stands, by 2014 Georgia and other states will have adopted and begin the process of writing curriculum from the new standards. We now have an opportunity to be involved in this process and demonstrate a proper influence.
Our effort is centered on challenging the science of evolution. Our goals are to inform the public and engage the Christian community into action. We want content about evolution removed and the science pertaining to each topic rewritten without evolutionary bias. We are not asking Creationism be taught in public schools. That is the job of the church and the home. We have stood silent on this matter for too long. Now is the time to voice our disapproval, and engage in needed action.
WHAT CAN I DO? First, we need to educate ourselves about this issue. Taking time to read this page is a start. The links below will provide resources and other information. Then, we need to speak up and out about this concern. Get the word out! We are for science and quality education. We also need to contact school leaders and other officials. The final science document was released April 9, 2013.
Will you engage in this important matter? Will you help see to it that good science returns to public education, where God can be glorified and Christian homes be respected once again?
